Taylor Walmart evacuated Saturday night over bomb threat

Police evacuated the Walmart in Taylor, Michigan, on Saturday night after receiving reports of at least one bomb inside the building. Officers blocked the intersection leading to the entrance and stationed several vehicles at the site to secure the area.

Employees inside the store were instructed to leave during a regular shift, and the evacuation extended to the entire parking lot and the shops located in front of the Walmart. Workers from the nearby Popeyes restaurant, where some employees gathered to stay warm, described the scene as chaotic with police rushing people out.

A man in the parking lot said officers told them not to take videos, while a nearby store owner noted that police entered his business and told him to shut down. The incident occurred on Saturday, October 17, 2026.
