U.S. Rep. Mike Turner said Sunday that Congress has not been told whether Ohio is among the states affected by recent cyberattacks targeting water utilities, as federal authorities investigate disruptions in multiple states.

More than 30 water systems in Minnesota and nine in Michigan reported disruptions, but officials said there was no evidence drinking water was contaminated or public health was threatened. The FBI, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency and other federal agencies are investigating, and no public attribution has been made.

Turner said U.S. adversaries increasingly view civilian infrastructure, including water systems, as military targets. He said Congress also continues to receive too little information from the Pentagon about ongoing conflicts despite repeated requests from lawmakers.
