U.S. Stock futures rise after Dow posts third straight losing week
U.S. Stock futures rose slightly on Sunday night after the Dow Jones Industrial Average posted a third straight losing week. S&P 500 futures climbed 0.23% and Nasdaq‑100 futures rose 0.27%, while Dow futures gained 0.25%.
The gains come amid the latest escalation in Middle East hostilities, with Iran‑backed Houthis attacking Saudi Arabia on Saturday and the U.S. State Department urging Americans to reconsider travel to the region. The Federal Reserve’s rate hike last week and oil prices near $100 a barrel also support the uptick.
Asia‑Pacific markets traded mixed early Monday, with Hong Kong Hang Seng index futures at 24,678 versus the index’s last close of 24,750.78, and Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 futures at 8,711 against a close of 8,731.20. The 10‑year Treasury yield hovers close to 5%, and a summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping will cover tariffs, critical minerals, and artificial intelligence.
