UFC’s Dana White to meet with Trump over White House press secretary offer

President Donald Trump has offered the job of White House press secretary to UFC president Dana White, an announcement made from his Florida golf club via social media. White, who was attending a boxing event in London on Saturday, confirmed he plans to fly to Washington to meet with the president on Monday to discuss the role.

The offer comes as the White House navigates a period of significant transition following the Republican Party's losses in Tuesday's midterm elections, which resulted in the GOP losing control of both chambers of Congress. Trump, who described White as a "violent Fighter and Warrior," requested that White bring several UFC fighters as assistants to help defend the administration against political opposition.

White, who also runs the Zuffa Boxing organization, expressed uncertainty about balancing the new position with his existing commitments but appeared open to the opportunity. The press secretary post has been vacant since Karoline Leavitt left in late August, following a brief and tumultuous five-day tenure for interim spokesperson Katie Zacharia.

Trump has maintained a close relationship with White since returning to the White House in January 2025, notably hosting the UFC Freedom 250 celebration on the South Lawn in June. The president is also reshuffling his inner circle, having recently appointed Stephen Miller as chief of staff to replace Susie Wiles.
