White House withdraws Schroyer nomination to lead ICE

The White House withdrew Lance Schroyer’s nomination to lead Immigration and Customs Enforcement, less than three months after President Donald Trump announced it. Officials gave no reason for the withdrawal.

Schroyer’s nomination had stalled in the Senate, where Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Chair Rand Paul had not scheduled a hearing. ICE has not had an official director since 2017.
