Michigan gas prices rise more than 9 cents in a week

Michigan’s average gasoline price reached $4.21 a gallon, up 9.1 cents from a week earlier and $1.13 from a year ago, according to GasBuddy. The state ranked 20th nationally for gas prices.

The national average also topped $4 a gallon. GasBuddy attributed the increases to rebounding oil prices, disruptions involving a major shipping route and attacks on oil refineries. AAA said uncertainty surrounding global oil supplies could push prices higher in the coming weeks.
