Developer appeals East Lansing denial of proposed downtown apartment

Tareen Development Partners is asking an Ingham County court to overturn East Lansing City Council’s July denial of a proposed 10-story, 205-unit apartment at the site of the Bailey Street parking lot.

The City Council rejected the proposal July 21, citing concerns about compatibility with nearby properties, parking and traffic congestion. The council approved a nearby 12-story apartment project at the same meeting.
