Dr. Arpit Saxena charged with sexual assault at MSU Health care facility

Former Michigan State University resident physician Dr. Arpit Saxena was arrested on September 10, 2026, after criminal sexual conduct charges were issued for assaults on two female patients during medical appointments at the MSU Health Care facility in the 4600 block of S. Hagadorn Rd.

The investigation began on April 3, 2025, when MSU Police and Public Safety officers responded to a complaint at the facility. Authorities identified two patients who reported being assaulted by Saxena, and the case was submitted to the Ingham County Prosecutor’s Office on August 28, 2025. Prosecutors authorized a felony warrant on September 3, 2026, charging Saxena with three counts of third‑degree and one count of fourth‑degree criminal sexual conduct.

Saxena was removed from patient care on April 7, 2025, and later dismissed from the university. MSU Police has established a hotline and email address for victims to file reports or ask questions. The university issued an apology and is contacting all patients treated by Saxena during his employment.
