European Stocks rebound as oil prices retreat and U.S. futures rise
European stocks opened higher Monday as Brent crude fell about 2% to around $102 a barrel, easing some concerns about inflation and bond-market pressure. Markets also responded to signs that Saudi supply flows could recover and Gulf crude exports were holding up better than feared.
The rebound followed a sell-off Friday that pushed major European indexes down more than 1%. S&P 500 futures rose about 0.5% and Nasdaq futures 0.7%, while German 10-year yields eased to 3.47%; U.S. Treasury yields remained near 4.97%.
