MSU restores power, but hot water remains out in most buildings

Michigan State University restored most campus power after an outage Saturday disrupted electricity, steam, cell service and building access. The outage stemmed from an issue at the T.B. Simon Power Plant.

About 80% of campus buildings remained without hot water Sunday because of problems with the plant’s steam distribution system. MSU encouraged students and staff to work remotely through Monday evening, and the MSU Veterinary Medical Center was closed Monday.
