Flippo’s campaign loans boost Nevada congressional bid

On March 31, Flippo loaned his campaign $600,000, raising his topline fundraising for the quarter before Nevada’s primary elections. Within weeks he repaid $12,000 of that loan, and two days later public records show he was listed as a debtor to a company that specializes in financing home improvement projects. The agreement was collateralized by “FLOORING” at Flippos’ Las Vegas home.

The financing statement is one of many transactions that demonstrate Flippo has reported nearly $2.5 million over his past two congressional bids. FEC records show he made loans totaling more than $1.6 million between January 2025 and June 2026, with two‑thirds of that money coming on the final days of the quarterly reporting periods. He has yet to submit the required financial disclosures that would clarify his personal assets, including a 2020 purchase of a Las Vegas home with a 30‑year mortgage for $565,000 and two home‑improvement projects during the 2026 cycle.

Flippo won the Nevada primary by 12 points after an endorsement from Donald Trump and is running to replace retiring Rep. Mark Amodei. He faces Democratic opponent Teresa Benitez‑Thompson, and his campaign has announced a first bill to ban Islamic religious law. The Center for Politics recently shifted the race to Likely Republican, and Brendan Fischer highlighted the importance of timely disclosures. Flippo’s treasurer Thomas Datwyler also serves as treasurer for Rep. Andy Ogles.
