Judge keeps bond for former Michigan State doctor at $2M, believes he May be flight risk

A judge has set a bond of $2 million for former Michigan State University doctor Arpit Saxena, who faces three counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct and a single count of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct for alleged sexual assaults of patients in East Lansing.

Saxena appeared in court via Zoom on Monday after his defense requested his bond be lowered, citing concerns that he may be a flight risk.

Prosecutors maintain Saxena’s ties are to Alabama, not Michigan, and that additional charges may be filed and a police report has been made in Alabama.
