MDOT plans holiday traffic changes on I-96 in Ionia County

The Michigan Department of Transportation will remove lane restrictions on 91 of 156 projects statewide from 3 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Tuesday to ease Labor Day travel. Equipment, temporary shifts and shoulder closures may remain in some work zones.

In Ionia County, I-96 has lane closures and traffic shifts between Sunfield and Bliss roads. Eastbound ramp closures are in place at Jordan Lake Road and M-66. Drivers are urged to slow down and check current conditions before traveling.
