Preliminary hearing reset in fatal Holt Road work-zone crash

A preliminary examination for a DeWitt man charged in the deaths of two road workers from Mason was postponed in 55th District Court. The hearing is now set for Sept. 25.

Investigators said Tyler Reck, 25, was traveling at a high rate of speed on US-127 near West Holt Road on May 26 when he lost control and struck Bruce Wagner and Steve Spenle. Reck faces two counts each of reckless driving causing death and moving violation causing death in a work zone.
