Rogers backs statewide pause on new data center construction

Michigan Republican U.S. Senate candidate Mike Rogers backed a statewide moratorium on new data center construction after disclosures highlighted his investments in technology and data center-related companies.

A financial disclosure analysis found Rogers held between $1.7 million and $2.6 million in companies that could benefit from policies supporting artificial intelligence infrastructure. His holdings also included between $100,001 and $250,000 in a real estate investment trust with significant data center investments. The campaign did not say whether Rogers would divest from companies that could benefit from such policies.
