Former MSU resident physician held on $2 million bond after arraignment

Arpit Saxena, a former Michigan State University resident physician, was arraigned Friday in 54B District Court in East Lansing on charges of sexually assaulting patients. He is being held on $2 million bond at the Ingham County Jail.

Saxena was ordered to surrender his driver’s license and passport and prohibited from contacting the victims. A bond hearing is scheduled for Monday.

Authorities said they have received three additional reports involving Saxena that are being evaluated and investigated. MSU police are asking patients treated by Saxena between July 1, 2024, and April 7, 2025, to contact the department with concerns or information.
