Freedom Fuel opens second Detroit station as prices rise

Freedom Fuel has opened its second Detroit station near the Highland Park border, at West McNichols Road and Woodward Avenue. The chain opened its first Michigan location on the city’s east side nearly a month ago.

On Sunday afternoon, regular gas at the new station cost $3.99 per gallon and diesel cost $4.68. GasBuddy put the area average for gas at $4.46 per gallon.

The network launched in July and operates more than 30 locations in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Detroit is its only market outside those states.
