Michigan Democrats face internal divisions after bruising Senate primary

Michigan Democrats are trying to unite behind U.S. Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed after a divisive primary, but disputes over Israel, antisemitism and his association with online commentator Hasan Piker continue to unsettle the party. Some Democrats, including U.S. Rep. Hillary Scholten and state Rep. Jeremy Moss, have not yet endorsed El-Sayed.

Other Democrats, including U.S. Rep. Debbie Dingell and U.S. Rep. Jamie Raskin, have rallied behind El-Sayed and urged the party to focus on the November election. Michigan Democrats are expected to gather this weekend in Lansing to finalize their ticket.
