Michigan football bowl projections Following win over Oklahoma
After a disappointing week one that dropped Michigan out of the AP Top 25, the Wolverines bounced back in week two with a 17-10 victory over No. 11 Oklahoma at home.
ESPN analysts Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach projected Michigan to the ReliaQuest Bowl against Ole Miss and Tennessee, while Sports Illustrated’s Bryan Fischer also placed the Wolverines in the same bowl against Tennessee. The Volunteers and Wolverines have only squared off once, back in 2001, when UT secured a 45-17 win in Orlando, Fla.
With the Volunteers set to host Kennesaw State next weekend and a showdown with No. 1 Texas on Sept. 26 in Knoxville, Michigan’s projected matchup in the ReliaQuest Bowl positions the team back into playoff conversation.
