Nearly 900 cyclists start annual Michigan tour in East Lansing

Nearly 900 cyclists began a five-day bicycle tour Wednesday at a university pavilion in East Lansing. Riders are traveling north across Michigan on eastern or western routes, with shorter and alternative trail options available.

The fully supported tour provides meals, camping, bike mechanics, support vehicles and luggage transportation. Proceeds support grants for bicycle-related projects and programs across Michigan, and officials are posting riding-condition updates during the week’s heat and humidity.
