Regional planners set Tuesday deadline for flood survey

Communities across southeast Michigan are asking residents to weigh in on worsening storm-driven flooding before a Tuesday deadline. The Southeast Michigan Council of Governments, which represents seven counties, is collecting responses to a short online survey through Aug. 11.

The survey will help shape the council's upcoming flooding and resilience plan, which is intended to guide local decisions on where to invest in flood-prevention projects. Officials say the region has faced increasingly frequent and intense flooding tied to storms.
