Human remains found on tribal reservation property in northern Michigan

Tribal police, the FBI and Michigan State Police are investigating after human remains were found Saturday afternoon in a wooded area on Grand Traverse Band reservation property in Peshawbestown.

The Grand Traverse Band Tribal Police Department said the person’s identity has not been confirmed. Authorities have not released information about the circumstances surrounding the death.

The Bureau of Indian Affairs, MSP Crime Lab and Grand Traverse Band Fire Department are also assisting with the investigation.
