Michigan student test scores remain largely flat from 2025
Most Michigan student proficiency rates remained essentially flat in the 2026 M-STEP and SAT/PSAT results released Saturday, with rates on 16 of 20 tests staying within two percentage points of 2025 figures. The assessments measure performance in English language arts, math, science and social studies.
The Michigan Department of Education said continued collaboration and evidence-based instruction are needed to raise achievement statewide. Literacy remains a top priority, while the department is also advancing new efforts in math, science and social studies.
Statewide results are posted on MI School Data, Michigan’s official education data portal.
