Texas Air National Guard jet crashes during training in northern Michigan

A Texas Air National Guard F-16 crashed Thursday afternoon in northern Michigan during a routine training exercise, officials said. The pilot ejected safely and remained in stable condition while receiving medical care.

An evacuation order covered a one-mile area around the crash site in Grand Traverse County. Emergency responders remained at the scene, and officials were investigating the cause of the crash.
