White House press secretary leaves role to spend more time with family

Karoline Leavitt is leaving her role as White House press secretary Thursday after nearly 20 months as President Donald Trump’s spokesperson. She said the birth of her second child in May prompted her to seek more time with her two young children.

Leavitt, 29, was the youngest White House press secretary in history and served 585 days, the second-longest tenure among Trump’s top White House spokespeople. She is set to join Trump’s super PAC, MAGA Inc., after leaving the administration.
