Lawsuit involving Lansing nonprofit founder dismissed with prejudice

An Ingham County Circuit Court judge dismissed lawsuits involving Martin Mashon, a founder of Punks with Lunch, and the organization’s counterclaim. The Aug. 17 order ended both cases with prejudice, preventing future lawsuits over the same allegations.

Neither party was ordered to pay damages or legal fees. A separate case accusing two people of embezzling from the organization remains ongoing.

Punks with Lunch began providing sack lunches to unhoused people in Lansing in 2017 and was formally created in 2021. The organization provides harm-reduction education, rapid overdose support and essential items across three Michigan counties.
