Ingham County opens applications for $2.75 million housing grants

Ingham County has opened applications for up to $2.75 million in funding for homeless programs serving county residents. Nonprofits and government organizations must apply by Oct. 15 at 11:59 p.m.

The funding includes $2.2 million for projects seeking up to $400,000 each and $550,000 for emergent needs, with grants capped at $100,000 per project. Emergent funding will be accepted on a rolling basis and must be spent within six months.

Eligible uses include emergency shelters, warming or cooling centers, facility repairs and continuing services after sudden funding cuts. A question-and-answer session is scheduled for Sept. 9 at 1 p.m., and the application is posted online under funding announcements.
