Lansing police investigate possible links among five deaths near River trail

Lansing police are investigating whether five deaths of unhoused men in the River Trail area are related, Chief Robert Backus said Friday. The men are believed to have been attacked while lying down or sleeping in the early morning, he said.

Backus said charges have been brought in the death of 22-year-old Daniel Lusk, the only victim who was fatally stabbed. Police have increased patrols, placed camera trailers in the area and established tip lines at 517-483-6023 and 517-483-7867 for Crime Stoppers.
