M-28 Business Route lane closure planned for culvert work in Ishpeming

The Michigan Department of Transportation is investing about $112,000 to replace a culvert on M-28 Business Route east of South 7th Street in Ishpeming, Marquette County.

The work includes backfill, slope restoration and repaving. One lane of alternating traffic will remain open with traffic regulators, and an 11-foot lane width restriction will be in place in the work zone.

MDOT said the project will replace a culvert that has reached the end of its service life, extending the roadway’s lifespan and increasing safety for motorists. The investment is expected to directly and indirectly support one job.
